SoloRosa Napa Valley Rose 2007

I need to add to Angela's list of Rose's that Real Men should be drinking in the middle of summer. This one was a surprise for me, really, since I have been a bit standoffish due to some arrogance coming from the direction of the Vintner's of this brand (one of the unfortunate sides of testosterone). I can't believe that I am saying this, but with the 2007 vintage, these guys have something to be puffed up about.

The wine has a beautiful, starbright, watermelon hue and is chock full of mouth-filling fruitiness: Ranier cherries, watermelon,raspberries, and orange peel. I think this wine is just fabulous - I am going to drink it all by itself but I also think it would be worthy of some grilled salmon or chicken.

I'm so glad you are enjoying it and wish you a summer full of fine pink wine with great meals and good friends. As far as the "testosterone issue" goes, I'm not quite sure what we could possibly have done to offend you, but I apologize, nonetheless. Trying to convert the wine drinking world to rose these last 8 years has been a humbling--and also inspiring--experience. We might have been a bit uppity in the early days. But I think today we're just happy and appreciative that people like you are enjoying our wine!

Isn't this a fabulous wine - I just suggested they add it to the wine list in my neighborhood bar - and yes...have introduced it to several 'you want me to drink PINK wine' men and they all loved it - best to start blindfolded.
